Opened in 2014 by author and comedy producer / promoter Kambri Crews, QED is the only independent, woman-owned and operated venue for the arts in Astoria, Queens. QED is a small community space that proudly supports the work of artists, producers, teachers and creatives and provides a free space for performers of all types at our open mics. At QED, you’ll find stand-up comedy shows with performers ranging from the beginner to the very famous, as well as arts and crafts workshops, writing classes, board game meet ups, storytelling, movie screenings, watch parties and more. QED’s affordable classes and shows are as diverse as Queens itself. With 100 or more events each month, there’s something for everyone. The bar serves a selection of beer, wine and cider, coffee, tea, soda, low-proof rum, vodka, and tequila. For food, QED offers food from Zorba’s (chicken fingers, hummus, souvlaki, and more), pastries from This Chick Bakes in LIC, candy, and fresh, hot popcorn. QED is also available to rent for private events, film shoots, podcasting and more. Comedy is complicated; all lineups subject to change.
